Pinterest is catching up with the times of many social sites or at least sites that offer tools to track performance. The popular social site will now be offering a web analytics tool to track traffic related to each individuals profile.
The new Pinterest analytics tool, is available to companies with a a business profile who have successfully linked their website to their Pinterest profile. Like mostly all analytics tools, the information provided will be the information you are looking for such as who has visited to your, how many people have shared your pins, and so forth. The analytics also show repinned items, most clocked, and most recent pins.
The verification process on Pinterest isn’t a very difficult one or complex, but if you have a proprietary site you might run into some problems if you cannot access the back-end coding. Once you entered in your websites information, they will give you an HTML tag which you will plug into your header which will then verify your site. Then you are ready to go.
Pinterest has been growing in popularity rapidly over the years as they see new users flourish over the fact of sharing their interests. Last May, the company landed $100 million in funding on a $1.5 billion valuation.
Internally, the problem with Pinterest was that it had issues getting money from investors at the beginning, not many people felt it was still to much of a risk for it to be successful, boy where they wrong. The Analytics tool could help Pinterest make its case that it’s driving value to companies.
Pinterest’s analytics tool is available now. The company has promised more business-oriented tools in the coming months.
