Penguin 3 by Google - Attack on Exact Match Domain Names?

TeamJEMSU, October 9, 2012

On Oct. 5, 2012 Googles head of web spam announced on his Twitter account that Google had launched what they call “Penguin 3” which will/did affect about 0.3% of search queries – how does this affect local companies?

Typically, it shouldn’t unless you’ve got an exact match domain name. What does that mean? Here’s an example… One of our affiliates in Boulder’s domain name is BoulderSEO.net – this is an exact match keyword based domain name. With this particular domain name, we didn’t notice any change and typically you shouldn’t unless there are some underlying problems with your link building strategy.

If you’ve noticed a decrease in rankings since this time, we can help. Give us a call at 720-545-1555 and we’ll take a look at your website (free of charge) and offer professional 3rd party advice!
